Reigate Liberal Democrats are the constituency party of Reigate.

This covers the towns of Banstead, Redhill and Reigate, as well as the villages of Burgh Heath, Chipstead, Earlswood, Kingswood, Lower Kingswood, Merstham, Salfords, Southpark and Meadvale, Tadworth, Walton on the hill Woodhatch and Woodmansterne.

The constituency is divided into the wards of Banstead Village, Chipstead Hooley & Woodmansterne, Earlswood & Whitebushes, Kingswood & Burgh Heath, Meadvale & St. Johns, Merstham, Redhill East, Redhill West, Reigate Central, Southpark & Woodhatch, Salfords & Sidlow and Tadworth & Walton.

Reigate Liberal Democrats always work hard to keep in touch with local people with local news.

Reigate Central Lib Dem Win on Surrey County Council

Fantastic Surrey County Council result for Reigate Liberal Democrats in Reigate Central Division. Peter Lambell won the seat in a three way fight, beating a Conservative and an Independent. Peter won overwhelmingly with a majority of nearly 200 and expressed his thanks to all those who helped to make this possible.

Postal votes delivered far too late for some voters.

Some people chose to vote by post because they knew that they were going to be on holiday or working away. Unfortunately, they were delivered far too late to be of any use. This has left over 600 people across the Borough without the ability to vote in either the European or County Council elections.

The ongoing controversy over the expenses system is having a hugely damaging effect on public confidence in MPs and politics. The behaviour of a small minority of politicians has played a major role in this collapse in confidence, but there has also been a collective failure to agree on a system that is seen as fair and transparent.

Bus service cuts hurt those who can least afford it.

Tory Councillors have included bus service cuts in this year's budget. They see it as one of the ways of paying for a lower council tax increase than in previous years. More than 10% of the subsidy will be cut next year.

On Monday, 30 March, Nick Skellett, the leader of Surrey County Council admitted in an interview with Radio Jackie that he has resigned.

Reigate & Banstead Council failed investments top £20m.

On top of £15.5m in Icelandic banks, Conservative controlled Reigate and Banstead Borough Council had invested another £5m in the Scottish Dunfirmline Building Society, which has also failed, according to BBC News reports today.
