I would like to thank Barbara Hall and the Horley Dial a Ride team for inviting me to their meeting last Thursday. It was a fantastic turnout. The hall was fit to bust.

Unfortunately the recent Borough Councils press release about the future of the Dial a Ride service didn't seem to convince most people. Mind you, the results of a recent Council survey showed overwhelming support for the service. 75 per cent of residents supported it's continuation.

Back in February the Tory Leader of the Council, Joan Spiers was quoted as saying "it was not cost effective, it was an emotive issue similar to when the Council decided to cease meals on wheels".

We Lib Dems believe that the Council should properly support Dial a Ride now.
